In the headlining bout, Max Holloway looks to defend his UFC featherweight title against Brian Ortega. Holloway has not fought for more than a year. His most recent outing, a Dec. 2, 2017 TKO win over former champion Jose Aldo, was the first defense of the featherweight crown. It was also his 12th straight victory. Ortega, who has never lost in his 15-fight career, is coming off a March knockout of former lightweight champion, Frankie Edgar.

In the co-main event, former UFC women’s bantamweight title challenger Valentina Shevchenko meets ex-UFC women’s strawweight titleholder Joanna Jedrzejczyk in a bout that will determine the UFC women’s flyweight champion. The title has been vacant since the UFC stripped Nicco Montano of the belt in September.

UFC 231 takes place at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

Before the fighters step into the octagon on Saturday, they will hit the scales. The ceremonial weigh-ins take place on Friday. The first fighter is set to hit the scale at 6 p.m. ET.
